The Policy Development and Programme Implementation Directorate is responsible for co-ordinating EU related matters, both at a domestic level and with other EU stakeholders and for co-ordinating the formulation of the Ministry's position on policies proposed by the EU.
The directorate is responsible for disseminating information and keeping abreast of policies being proposed and discussed by the European Union that might have a direct or indirect effect on the strategy or operation of the Ministry.
The directorate is responsible for consulting with stakeholders to produce policy options, overseeing the development of the Ministry’s position on policies proposed by the EU and making recommendations in this regard to the Permanent Secretary.
The directorate is also responsible for co-ordinating EU funding programmes and projects and disseminating information on EU funding opportunities in order to make the best use of EU funds available for programmes and initiatives.
